FeiyuTech is set to unveil its latest compact gimbal camera, the Feiyu Pocket 4, positioning it as a budget-friendly alternative to DJI’s Osmo Pocket 4. This new model marks a shift from the modular design of the Feiyu Pocket 3 toward a streamlined all-in-one device tailored for ease of use and performance.
Feiyu Pocket 4 Brings Major Upgrades Over Its Predecessor
Reportedly launching between May 15-18, the Feiyu Pocket 4 features a significant redesign. The tiny 0.42-inch screen of the Pocket 3 is replaced by a large 2.64-inch rotatable touchscreen, which is even bigger than the Osmo Pocket 4’s 2-inch display. This screen also slides to protect the gimbal head, offering practical protection during transport.
In terms of imaging, the Pocket 4 upgrades from a 12MP 1/2.3-inch sensor to a much larger 1/1.55-inch sensor capable of capturing 50MP stills. The camera supports up to 4x digital zoom, a notable enhancement for such a compact device. Related coverage: Motorola Edge 70 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy A57: Flagship.
Built-in Storage and Extended Motion Range
Unlike the Feiyu Pocket 3, which relied solely on microSD cards, the new Pocket 4 includes 64GB of built-in storage. This addition aligns it closer to premium competitors like the Osmo Pocket 4, which offers 128GB internal memory.
The Feiyu Pocket 4 also boasts an industry-leading 450-degree pan rotation, exceeding the range available on the Osmo Pocket 4. This extended motion range allows for more dynamic shooting angles and creative freedom.
AI Tracking and Versatile Recording Modes
The camera supports AI tracking and gesture control, enhancing its usability for vloggers and content creators seeking smooth, automated tracking of subjects. Video recording capabilities include up to 4K resolution at 60fps, with additional modes such as slow motion, motion lapse, and panorama, although specific resolutions and frame rates for these modes are yet to be confirmed.
Battery and Performance Expectations
The Pocket 4 houses a 1,300 mAh battery, which reportedly charges up to 80% in 30 minutes and allows for approximately 150 minutes of continuous video recording. These specs suggest solid endurance for extended shooting sessions.
Affordable Alternative to Premium Pocket Cameras
While DJI’s Osmo Pocket 4 and Insta360 Luna Ultra remain the premium choices for pocket-sized gimbal cameras in 2026, the Feiyu Pocket 4 aims to disrupt the market with a more affordable price point. Based on previous pricing, it is expected to launch around $300/€300, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious users wanting advanced features like AI tracking and high-resolution imaging.
Previously available on Amazon in the US and Europe, the Feiyu Pocket 3’s successor is anticipated to follow a similar distribution path. The official unveiling at the China P&E fair in Beijing will reveal full specs and pricing details.
