Huawei Router X1 Pro Gaming Edition launch in China

Gaming at home can often be slowed down by laggy connections and weak Wi-Fi signals, especially when multiple devices compete for bandwidth. Huawei’s newly launched Router X1 Pro Gaming Edition aims to tackle these everyday frustrations with its Wi-Fi 7 plus technology and specialized gaming features.

  • The router supports Wi-Fi 7 plus for better wall penetration and lower latency
  • Multi-Link Operation lets devices connect to 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands simultaneously
  • It includes four 2.5G Ethernet ports for high-speed wired connections
  • Built-in Game Turbo engine and 40-day free NetEase UU Accelerator membership enhance gaming experience

Wi-Fi 7 plus designed for stable and fast connections

The Huawei Router X1 Pro Gaming Edition integrates Wi-Fi 7 plus technology, which improves performance by enhancing weak-signal dual Wi-Fi acceleration and applying dynamic narrow-bandwidth techniques. These upgrades help signals pass through walls more effectively and reduce interference, which means gamers and other heavy users may experience fewer disruptions.

Another key feature is Multi-Link Operation (MLO), allowing compatible devices to use both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands at the same time. This dual-band connectivity can provide faster and more stable wireless connections, which is particularly useful for gaming or streaming high-definition content.

Hardware built to support demanding network tasks

Physically, the router sports a cylindrical design with an array of 11 antennas to offer 360-degree signal coverage around your home or office. At its core lies Huawei’s Lingxiao SoC with an embedded CPU optimized to reduce network latency.

For wired connections, the router includes four 2.5G Ethernet ports. These ports are ideal for connecting gaming PCs, consoles, or other devices that benefit from gigabit-class broadband speeds and fast file transfers.

Smart ecosystem and gaming enhancements

Running on HarmonyOS 4, the Router X1 Pro Gaming Edition supports Huawei’s HarmonyOS smart ecosystem, allowing seamless integration with other smart home devices. It also features Huawei’s Game Turbo engine, designed to prioritize gaming traffic and reduce lag.

Additionally, buyers receive a free 40-day membership to NetEase UU Accelerator, a gaming network accelerator service that can further improve connection stability and speed for online games.

Pricing and availability

The new gaming edition is available for pre-order in China at 666 yuan, which is around $98. This price point could be appealing for gamers and tech enthusiasts looking for a router that balances advanced features with affordability.

While the Router X1 Pro was introduced last year, this gaming edition updates the design and adds focused features to meet the needs of gamers and heavy network users. Whether these upgrades justify an investment depends on your home network demands and interest in smart home integration.
