Casio is preparing to expand its G-Steel lineup with two new models featuring full black ion plating (IP) coatings, reportedly set for a mid-summer 2026 launch. These updates mark the first significant refresh of the GST-B1000 series since its introduction in autumn 2025.
Full Black IP Coatings and Design Details
The two rumored models, the GST-B1000BD-1A and GST-B1000BD-2A, share identical case dimensions measuring 46.9 × 44.2 × 11.6mm. This size is relatively compact compared to other G-Steel watches, thanks to a carbon core structure combined with damper inserts below the bezel for enhanced durability.
The case design is notably slimmer than earlier G-Steel references such as the GST-B100D-1ACR. Both models use a cast-link bracelet with a mix of mirror and satin finishes, reinforced by sturdy pins to increase longevity. Dial Variations: Blackout vs Blue Textured
The main difference between the two watches lies in their dial design. The GST-B1000BD-1A opts for a full blackout look, with dark gray to black IP coating covering the case, bezel, and bracelet. Its hands and indices are treated with Neobrite to maintain visibility despite the dark theme.
Meanwhile, the GST-B1000BD-2A pairs its blacked-out hardware with a vivid blue dial. The dial’s textured pattern draws inspiration from Casio’s iconic DW-5000 brick design, adding a striking contrast to the overall appearance.
Features and Connectivity
Both models are equipped with Bluetooth connectivity and solar charging capabilities. Standard features include a 30-minute stopwatch, timer, daily alarm, Super Illuminator LED backlight, and a 24-hour time display window.
While the watches don’t have an on-watch battery indicator, users can monitor charge levels through the Casio Watches companion app.
Pricing and Availability
Official pricing has not been announced. However, considering the premium full black IP coating and upgrades over the base GST-B1000 models, an estimated retail price around $450 is expected. This would place them roughly $30 to $40 above the current standard versions.
