Lenovo is making a bold play for the home office and small business market with the launch of its new Lecoo Bellator AI NAS 900 series. Moving beyond traditional storage, these compact units leverage Intel's latest Panther Lake architecture to provide on-device AI processing capabilities, effectively turning a standard file server into a local compute hub. With the standard model starting at $1,043 (6,999 Yuan) and the high-end Pro version at $2,682 (17,999 Yuan), Lenovo is clearly targeting users who need serious performance without the footprint of a traditional tower server.
At the core of the series are two distinct hardware configurations. The base AI NAS 900 utilizes an Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processor paired with 16GB of memory, while the Pro model steps up to a Core Ultra X9 388H and a massive 64GB of RAM. Notably, both models opt for soldered LPDDR5/LPDDR5X memory, prioritizing thermal efficiency and compact dimensions over user-upgradable DIMMs. This design choice results in a chassis measuring just 6.3 x 2.2 x 5.8 inches, making it small enough to tuck away on a crowded desk or inside a media cabinet.
Performance is the primary differentiator here. Lenovo claims the standard unit delivers over 100 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of AI performance, while the Pro variant pushes that figure beyond 180 TOPS. For users looking to run local LLMs, image generation, or automated data indexing without relying on cloud-based subscriptions, this dedicated hardware provides a compelling alternative. Storage is handled via four independent M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots, offering support for RAID 0, 1, 5, as well as ZFS-based configurations like RAID Z1 and Z2.
Connectivity remains robust despite the small form factor. The units feature dual 2.5GbE ports with link aggregation for up to 5Gbps throughput, alongside Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. The front panel is surprisingly dense, housing two 10Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, a Type-A port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. While Lenovo has not yet confirmed international pricing or regional availability, the system ships with Feiniu fnOS and provides Windows drivers, suggesting a flexible approach to software management for power users who want to run Docker containers or custom media server environments.
