Amazfit has rolled out eight new features to its Cheetah 2 Pro smartwatch through two firmware updates, enhancing the device’s training capabilities and overall user experience.

New Hybrid Training Mode Targets Marathon Runners

The major update, firmware version 3.8.0.5, introduced a Hybrid Training mode designed specifically for marathon runners. This mode aims to provide a wider range of workout options that help reduce injury risk and improve athletic performance.

Expanded Metrics and Training Tools

The update also adds lactate threshold metrics, a feature that has been gradually integrated into other Amazfit models, giving users more detailed insights into their endurance and performance levels. Alongside this, official marathon training plans have been incorporated, making it easier for runners to follow structured programs. Additionally, the Cheetah 2 Pro now includes a Training Calendar, which lets users view their scheduled workouts directly on the watch. This feature streamlines workout planning and helps maintain consistency.

New Features for Better Workout Management

The update brings an Equipment Management function, allowing users to keep track of their workout gear, which can aid in maintaining and optimizing training equipment. Two new metrics, Equivalent Pace and Race Time Prediction, further support runners by offering pace comparisons and estimated finish times.

Firmware 3.8.0.7 Improves Voice Broadcast and Stability

More recently, firmware version 3.8.0.7 began rolling out, focusing on optimizing the mid-workout voice broadcast settings. This update improves the clarity and customization of audio feedback during training sessions. It also includes various bug fixes and system stability enhancements, though specific details have not been disclosed.

Updating Through the Zepp App

Users can install these updates via the Zepp smartphone app, which manages Amazfit device software. The updates are typically released in phases, so availability may vary among users.
