Xiaomi has officially opened pre-orders for the Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro in China, expanding its flagship tablet roster alongside the previously announced Pad 9 Pro Max. Both new entries prioritize high-density pixel performance, sub-6mm chassis profiles, and upgraded silicon aimed at taking on demanding productivity and creative workflows.
Starting at approximately $447 (¥2,999) for the standard Pad 9 and $566 (¥3,799) for the Pad 9 Pro, Xiaomi aims to deliver premium multimedia and desktop-adjacent utility at prices that undercut mainstream competitors.
High-Refresh Displays and Ultra-Slim Engineering
Both the Xiaomi Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro focus heavily on display fidelity. The standard Pad 9 features an 11.2-inch 3.2K LCD panel with an 800-nit peak brightness rating, while the Pad 9 Pro upgrades to a larger 12.5-inch 3.2K panel capable of hitting 1,000 nits. Both screens feature fluid 144Hz refresh rates, delivering smooth stylus tracking and responsive multitasking.
Despite their screen size and large internal power cells, Xiaomi kept the physical profiles remarkably svelte. The Pad 9 measures just 5.75mm thick and weighs 485 grams, while the larger Pad 9 Pro stands at 5.8mm and weighs 494 grams. For users working outdoors or in harsh indoor lighting, both tablets offer optional Soft Light matte finishes to minimize reflections.
Snapdragon 8 Silicon and Deep HyperOS 4 Integration
Under the hood, Xiaomi differentiates the two models with distinct Qualcomm processors. The standard Pad 9 runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 paired with up to 12GB of RAM, making it well-suited for high-framerate gaming, content consumption, and daily document processing. The Pad 9 Pro steps up to the higher-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, paired with up to 16GB of RAM to handle complex 4K video timelines and multi-window multitasking.
Both devices ship with Xiaomi HyperOS 4, bringing tailored productivity enhancements such as native support for WPS for Pad, CapCut Pro, CAJ Reader, and ZWCAD. Software tools like Super Xiao Ai 2.0, Inspiration Ball, and cross-platform task sharing allow the tablets to integrate directly with Xiaomi smartphones and laptops.
Battery Endurance, Fast Charging, and Configurations
Battery life remains a core focus of the hardware design. The standard Pad 9 incorporates a 9,720mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging, while the larger Pad 9 Pro houses an 11,000mAh cell supporting 67W rapid charging. Xiaomi states the larger model can deliver up to 20 hours of continuous video conferencing or 14.5 hours of continuous video playback on a single charge.
In terms of aesthetics, the Pad 9 comes in Ice Peach Pink, Spruce Green, Black, and Silver, while the Pro model is available in Spruce Green, Black, and Silver.
