Sony Reon Pocket Pro Plus wearable air conditioner with improved cooling design

Sony has expanded its wearable climate control lineup with the Reon Pocket Pro Plus, a compact personal air conditioner designed to rest comfortably on the back of your neck. This new model builds on previous versions by boosting cooling power by 20%, offering a more noticeable chill during warm conditions.

Improved Cooling and Wearability

The Reon Pocket Pro Plus can lower its cooling plate temperature by an additional 2 degrees Celsius compared to its predecessor, enhancing the sensation of coolness against the skin. To improve comfort and stability, Sony added a flexible neckband that better grips the shoulders, preventing the device from shifting as you move or bend.

Another notable upgrade is an adjustable exhaust vent. Users can extend and angle the vent to direct hot air away, avoiding heat buildup beneath shirts or jackets with high collars. These physical design tweaks make the device more practical for daily wear. Related coverage: Garmin Forerunner 70 and 170: Balanced GPS Watches for.

Smart Temperature Management

Equipped with dual thermo-modules and skin temperature sensors, the Reon Pocket Pro Plus intelligently monitors the wearer’s temperature. Using the companion smartphone app, you can set a target temperature and let the device automatically adjust its cooling or heating output depending on environmental changes.

For those who prefer not to use a phone, physical buttons on the side allow switching between cooling and heating modes manually, ensuring ease of use at all times.

Battery Life and Additional Accessories

Sony claims the device can operate quietly for up to 15 hours on the smart cooling setting, making it suitable for indoor use or workplaces without distracting others. Additionally, the company offers the Wearable Sensing Device, also known as the Reon Pocket Tag 2. This small clip-on sensor measures ambient temperature and humidity, feeding data back to the wearable for more precise climate control.

The Reon Pocket Pro Plus will be available exclusively through Sony’s online store in the US starting in summer 2026. Pricing details for the US market have not been announced, but the device retails for €229 in Europe and £199 in the UK.
