Xiaomi is looking to simplify home lighting with the launch of its new Mijia Ceiling Light C series, a duo of smart fixtures designed to provide high-quality, eye-friendly illumination at an accessible price point. Currently available through Xiaomi's Youpin crowdfunding platform, the lineup includes the large-format L90 for expansive living areas and the compact D40 for bedrooms, both aimed at users who want premium light quality without the premium price tag.
At the heart of these fixtures is a commitment to full-spectrum LED technology. Both models boast a color rendering index (CRI) of Ra95, which ensures colors in your home appear more vibrant and accurate compared to standard budget lighting. To combat eye fatigue, Xiaomi has secured TÜV SÜD certification for both models, confirming an RG0 exemption rating for blue-light hazard protection and a flicker-free output that keeps your space comfortable during long evening hours.
Performance Tailored to Your Space
The Mijia Ceiling Light C series caters to different room sizes through two distinct form factors. The L90 model is a rectangular 900 x 600 mm fixture designed to illuminate living rooms between 25 and 45 square meters. Drawing 108W of power, it delivers a high output of 8400 lumens, ensuring that even large, open-plan spaces remain well-lit. For more intimate settings, the circular D40 model measures 400 mm in diameter and provides 2500 lumens from a 30W draw, making it an efficient choice for bedrooms under 15 square meters.
Both lights utilize a side-emitting design that spreads illumination evenly across the room, effectively minimizing dark spots that often plague traditional ceiling fixtures. The hardware is built for longevity as well; the lampshades are treated with an anti-UV agent to prevent the yellowing that typically occurs over years of exposure to light, while the internal structure features optimized heat dissipation to maintain performance consistency.
Smart Control and Ecosystem Integration
Beyond basic illumination, these lights serve as a functional piece of your smart home ecosystem. Through the Mi Home app, users can continuously adjust the color temperature from a warm 2700K to a crisp 5700K, allowing the lighting to shift from a cozy evening ambiance to a productive workspace tone. The app also supports scene presets and custom automation, enabling the lights to trigger based on actions from other connected hardware, such as smart door locks or voice assistants.
Pricing and Availability
The Mijia Ceiling Light C series is currently available for crowdfunding via Xiaomi's Youpin platform. The larger L90 model is priced at $81 (539 Yuan), while the compact D40 starts at $38 (269 Yuan). As these products are currently in the crowdfunding phase, global availability beyond the initial regional release has not yet been announced.
