This trio of titanium timepieces moves away from the minimalist dress-watch aesthetic often associated with the Oceanus range, opting instead for a robust, tool-watch design that emphasizes functional travel utility. Set for release in Japan on October 16, the series carries a premium price tag, starting at approximately $1,430 (220,000 yen) for the standard titanium models and reaching $1,645 (253,000 yen) for the DLC-coated black variant.
At the core of the OCW-P3000 is a sophisticated world-time navigation system. City codes are etched along the outer dial, allowing wearers to track multiple time zones with a simple interaction. By pressing the button at the ten o'clock position, the second hand swings to indicate the city corresponding to the current midnight position. By aligning the bezel's triangle marker with that city, the 24-hour scale on the ceramic insert transforms into a comprehensive readout of the time across various regions. The bezel itself is split into two distinct tones, clearly demarcating day and night hours for improved visibility during international travel.
Durability is central to the construction, with Casio introducing its Tough MVT. 2 movement to the Oceanus line for the first time. This system is designed to maintain precision under duress, automatically correcting hand positions should the watch suffer a significant impact. Furthermore, the movement includes magnetic field detection; if the watch encounters a strong magnetic source, it halts the hands to preserve accuracy and resumes normal operation once the interference is cleared.
Physically, the watch is built to handle the rigors of daily wear without the heft of traditional stainless steel. The case and bezel are crafted from titanium, finished with a scratch-resistant titanium carbide coating on the blue and green models, while the black reference receives a full DLC treatment. Measuring 47.6 by 42.9 by 11.7 mm, the watch maintains a manageable 99g weight on its titanium bracelet.
